MERCHANDISING

is a very broad group of services whose aim is to get the most information for a successful sale of the product and subsequent application of this knowledge directly into the shop or sales strategies.

Merchandising can be divided into these "subgroups":

  • Rackjobbing - preparation on the shelves and related activities
  • Competition analysis - identifying competitive sales and marketing practices
  • Sales Support - POS material distribution, giving advice and information to the sellers
  • Couponing - distribution of different coupons, stickers, tickets and other promotion products in the stores
  • Sampling - providing samples and other sales aids to a better presentation of the goods
  • Infojobbing - identifying different information from the market - according to the assignment
  • Arranging showcases and shop windows
  • Remodeling shelves and racks
  • Display creation - the creation of distribution of goods according to established business strategies and your requirements
  • Reporting - on-line report is available from each activity / see below /

Thanks to direct relation with the staff of the store, merchandiser gets a better understanding of shopping behaviour and habits of customers in a given locality. It can efficiently process information about competitive products, buyer requirements, evaluate marketability, to place an order, etc. Specification of his operations is very closely tied to your specific requirements.

Again two basic concepts in this activity are MERCHANDISER and REPORT

MERCHANDISER

This regards a solely staff employee of SUPPLIES. This is a person, who possesses knowledge of the products, market and competition. He/she is also better technically equipped. He/she is also a somewhat of a supervising body to RACKJOBBERS. He/she checks and authorizes their reports and evaluates them in own separate reports. The period between his visits is derived based on your decision, most frequently it is 1x in a month.

Among his/her basic tasks are especially the following:

  • facing - arrangement of products on the shelf /possible even with use of spacing plan/
  • inspection of expiration dates and displaying products from the youngest – farthest position on the hook from the customer perspective up to the oldest – closest position on the hook again from the customer perspective.
  • product cleaning
  • removal from store and submitting expired or damaged products to the store staff
  • refilling of products on the shelf, inspection of which product is running out
  • verification of presence and correctness of price tags
  • support of brand presentation
  • communication with staff on requirements, reprimands and so on
  • collection of information on competitive products at the given store
  • taking a photograph of the store
  • evaluation of product marketability
  • registering of end user requirements
  • order creation
  • RACKJOBBER evaluation

After performance of this activity of his/hers, he/she will enter the findings into a predefined form, which is uploaded to a website in the form of a clear report that is then made available to the manufacturers.

REPORT

REPORT is a summary of up to date information, which you have continuously at your fingertips in the PARTNER ZONE section after logging in to www.supplies.cz. Your reports are not seen by anybody else but you. Following an agreement it is possible to make the REPORTS, or their parts, available to product supplier. You have an option of selecting a specific chain, region, or possibly a specific store and its reports for the given period. You always have available the cumulative information on the given chain, region or store including photographs of the specific store. It is also possible to filter only reports on RACKJOBBING or MERCHANDISING.
